This walled garden on the grounds of Washington National Cathedral is designed in the style of a medieval European enclosure. Laid out in the early twentieth century, it features stone paths, boxwood hedges, herb beds, and roses arranged around a medieval-style baptismal font and carved elements gathered from older structures. Shaded arbors and a small perennial garden create quiet corners with views over the surrounding close, offering a contemplative retreat beside the towering cathedral.
