A cathedral-style Orthodox church on Rustaveli Avenue, built in the early 20th century opposite the parliament building on the site of an older shrine. Its design deliberately echoes the medieval Samtavisi cathedral, with a tall central dome and finely carved stone ornament on the exterior. Inside are notable frescoes painted by a leading Georgian artist of the modern era. Standing amid the capital's grandest avenue, the church provides a quiet counterpoint to the surrounding civic and cultural buildings and remains an active place of worship.
