A lavishly decorated public palace in Dushanbe built as a venue for state functions, weddings and cultural events, and named after the spring festival of Navruz. Its many halls are finished with carved plaster, painted ceilings, chandeliers and traditional Tajik ornament executed by teams of master craftsmen. Originally planned as a teahouse, it grew into one of the most opulent buildings in the country. The interiors showcase the applied arts and decorative traditions of the region on a grand scale.
