Graha Maria Annai Velangkanni is a Catholic shrine in Medan built in the style of an Indo-Mughal temple, dedicated to the Virgin Mary under a title venerated by Tamil Catholics. Rising over several storeys and topped with tiered spires, the pink-and-white structure resembles a Hindu temple more than a conventional church, reflecting the heritage of the city's Indian Christian community. Inside, chapels and prayer halls are decorated with statues and carvings.
