Sri Veeramakaliamman Temple is one of the oldest Hindu temples in Singapore, established in the mid-19th century by Bengali labourers and dedicated to the fierce goddess Kali. Its towering gateway tower is encrusted with brightly painted sculptures of deities, and the interior shrines are alive with ritual, music, and offerings. Located along the main thoroughfare of the Little India district, it draws worshippers throughout the day. The vivid ornamentation reflects the city's Tamil and Hindu communities.
