Taman Suropati

Taman Suropati is a leafy public park at the meeting point of several tree-lined avenues in the diplomatic Menteng district of Jakarta. Laid out during the colonial era as the centrepiece of a planned garden suburb, it retains mature trees, fountains, and a scattering of sculptures donated by Southeast Asian nations. Weekends bring musicians, families, and street performers to its shaded lawns and benches. The park is prized as a rare green refuge in the dense capital and as an example of early-20th-century urban planning.
