A small crescent bay tucked below the wooded hill near the harbour mouth of Kaohsiung, long favoured for its west-facing sunsets over the Taiwan Strait. Backed by the campus of a national university and the old British consulate bluff, it combines swimming waters with easy access to the city. Evening crowds gather on the sand and breakwater to watch the sun drop behind passing ships and offshore islets. A palm-lined promenade and nearby ferry pier make it a relaxed edge to the busy port district.
