A major public art museum in northern Kaohsiung, set within a large wetland and sculpture park that softens its monumental concrete galleries. Opened in 1994, it presents Taiwanese modern and contemporary art alongside international exhibitions and a strong collection of prints and sculpture. Wide plazas and reflecting pools surround the building, and the adjoining Neiweipi park draws families and birdwatchers to its lakes and boardwalks. It forms the cultural anchor of a green district in an otherwise industrial harbour city.
