A landscaped downtown park that reclaimed the site of a former sports ground, giving central Kaohsiung a broad green lung of lawns, ponds, and shade trees. It is best known for its adjoining metro entrance, whose curving glass-and-steel canopy, lit in shifting colours at night, has become an architectural landmark of the city. Cycling paths, an open-air stage, and reflecting pools thread through the greenery, drawing joggers and families.
