A pair of connected artificial lakes in the Songpa district of southeastern Seoul, ringed by a popular walking and jogging path lined with cherry trees. Once a channel of the Han River, the water body was separated and landscaped as the surrounding area urbanized. In spring the blossoming trees along its banks draw crowds for one of the city's most celebrated cherry festivals, and floating art installations occasionally appear on the water. A towering skyscraper and a theme park overlook the lakes, giving them a distinctive modern backdrop.
