The Sapporo Beer Museum occupies a handsome red-brick building that once served as a brewing malt house, dating from the late nineteenth century when the industry was pioneered here. It is the only museum in Japan dedicated to beer, tracing the drink's introduction to the country through vintage advertising, brewing equipment, and archival displays. Tasting is available in an adjoining hall, and the nearby beer garden serves grilled lamb, the local specialty. English guidance helps international visitors follow the story of the brand.
