A spacious lakeside park in the western city celebrated above all for its cherry blossoms, a grove of thousands of trees that draws large crowds each spring. Centered on a broad reservoir, the grounds offer boating, waterside walks, and views toward the nearby television tower rising beyond the trees. Developed in the mid-twentieth century, it pairs recreational lawns with themed gardens and a bird-watching area. Outside the blossom season it remains a relaxed expanse for jogging, tai chi, and picnics away from the historic core.
