This historic cable railway climbs the Green Hill above central Kaunas, carrying passengers up the steep slope in original wooden carriages. Opened in the 1930s during the city's interwar heyday, it remains one of the oldest working funiculars in the region and a beloved piece of local heritage. The short ride ends near the modernist basilica at the top of the hill, offering views over the rooftops. Together with a second line elsewhere in the city, it survives as a rare and cherished mode of transport.
