This complex of converted railway workshops northwest of the old town has become Tallinn's leading hub for creative business, art and nightlife. Once industrial buildings now hold design studios, galleries, cafes and a large flea market, with street art covering the brick walls between them. The Fotografiska photography museum occupies one of the halls. Weekend crowds fill the courtyards for markets, food stalls and events, and the district has grown into a showcase of the city's contemporary cultural scene beside the old freight tracks.
