Danube Park is a leafy nineteenth-century public garden in the heart of Novi Sad, laid out with winding paths, a small lake, and mature exotic trees. Statues of poets and writers stand among the greenery, including a monument to a beloved Serbian romantic poet. A whimsical fairy-tale sculpture and seasonal flower beds make it a favourite with families and strollers. Surrounded by grand civic buildings and cultural institutions, the park provides a tranquil green counterpoint to the bustle of the surrounding city centre.
