The Brașov County History Museum occupies the old Council House at the centre of Council Square, a building whose core dates to the fourteenth century. Long the seat of the Saxon town council and the trumpeter's tower, it has served over the centuries as a guardhouse, archive, and market office. Today its galleries trace the history of Brașov and the surrounding region from prehistory through the guild era to modern times. Artefacts, documents, and old town views fill the historic rooms beneath the distinctive tiered tower.
