Cotroceni Palace serves as the official residence of Romania's president and grew from a 17th-century monastery founded by prince Șerban Cantacuzino. Rebuilt in the late 1800s as a royal home for King Ferdinand and Queen Marie, it blends historicist and national-romantic styles across richly decorated state rooms. Part of the complex houses the National Cotroceni Museum, where guided visits reveal period furniture, royal apartments, and the reconstructed church. Tours must be booked in advance and require identity documents at entry.
