The New Synagogue of Szeged is a masterpiece of Hungarian Art Nouveau, completed in 1903 to the design of Lipot Baumhorn, considered one of Europe's finest synagogue builders. Its vast blue-and-gold dome is decorated with stars and flowers symbolising infinity and faith, while stained-glass windows trace the Jewish festivals through the year. The soaring, light-filled interior blends Moorish, Gothic, and Art Nouveau elements. Regarded as among the most beautiful synagogues in the world, it serves as both a synagogue and concert venue.
