The Church of Our Lady before Tyn dominates one side of Prague's Old Town Square with a pair of dark, needle-sharp Gothic towers rising nearly eighty metres. Built from the fourteenth century onward, it served as a principal church of the reformist Hussite movement before returning to Catholic use. The towers are asymmetric by design and topped with golden detailing, and the interior holds Baroque altarpieces and the tomb of the astronomer Tycho Brahe. Its facade is partly screened by the houses of the square, adding to its mysterious presence.
