Rising over the right-bank district of Praga, St. Florian's Cathedral is a soaring neo-Gothic church whose twin spires are a landmark on the eastern skyline. Completed in the early 20th century, it was deliberately built tall as a statement of Polish faith under partition. Dynamited by retreating German forces in 1944, it was painstakingly rebuilt after the war. The brick façade, pointed arches and lofty interior reflect the Gothic revival that shaped many Polish churches, and it anchors the Praga district across the river.
