Feskekôrka

Feskekôrka, whose name means the fish church, is a distinctive indoor fish market in Gothenburg built in the nineteenth century in a style resembling a Gothic church hall. Its arched wooden roof and tall windows give the trading floor an unusually ecclesiastical atmosphere. For generations vendors have sold fresh seafood here alongside eateries serving local dishes. The structure sits beside a canal near the centre and has become an emblem of Gothenburg's maritime and culinary identity.
