This lesser-known work by Antoni Gaudí sits at the foot of the Collserola hills on the site of a medieval royal residence. Built in the early twentieth century, it fuses Gaudí's organic modernism with Gothic references, evoking a fortified castle with a slender tower crowned by a mosaic cross. Its stone facade, wrought-iron gates, and viaduct of leaning columns reflect the architect's structural ingenuity. Less crowded than his famous landmarks, the private house offers an intimate look at his mature style.
