A small hill in the 19th arrondissement near the Buttes-Chaumont, this quiet residential enclave is one of the least-known viewpoints in Paris, reached by steep streets and staircases. Laid out in the early 20th century on the site of former quarries and a short-lived amusement park, its handful of streets are lined with villas, gardens and Art Deco houses. From its edge a celebrated framed view opens onto the distant white dome of the Sacré-Cœur across the rooftops. A community vineyard and shared garden add to its village atmosphere.
