Mémorial de la Shoah

In the heart of the Marais, this memorial and museum is dedicated to remembering the victims of the Holocaust and documenting the persecution of Jews in France. A somber Wall of Names records the tens of thousands deported from the country, and the crypt holds a symbolic tomb of the unknown Jewish martyr. Permanent exhibitions combine photographs, documents and testimony to chronicle the events of the Second World War, while an archive and education centre serve researchers. The Wall of the Righteous honours those who sheltered the persecuted.
