This grand civic building dominates Donegall Square at the heart of Belfast and symbolises the city's Edwardian prosperity. Completed in 1906 in Portland stone, it is built in a Baroque Revival style with a central copper dome and corner towers. The marble interior includes a sweeping staircase, stained glass and a council chamber, and the grounds hold memorials including one to the victims of the Titanic. Free guided tours explain the building's history and its role in the growth of the city.
