The London Oratory in Knightsbridge, commonly called Brompton Oratory, is a large Roman Catholic church completed in the 1880s in an exuberant Italian Baroque style rare in Britain. Its wide nave without aisles is flanked by side chapels and topped by a dome, with marble columns and statues shipped from Italian churches. The Oratory is renowned for its choral tradition and elaborate liturgy, drawing worshippers to solemn services rich in incense. It remains a centre of Catholic devotion.
