Metropolitan Ervin Szabó Library

Budapest's central public library occupies the ornate Wenckheim Palace, an eclectic mansion from the late nineteenth century. Its reading rooms preserve gilded stucco, chandeliers, and grand staircases. The neo-baroque interiors are among the most photographed library spaces in the city.
