Achada do Teixeira

A high mountain plateau on Madeira's north flank that serves as the eastern gateway to Pico Ruivo, the island's summit. From the car park a paved path climbs through heather and laurel, while the strange basalt column of Homem em Pé stands guard over the ridge.
