Havana

Havana is Cuba's capital and the largest city in the Caribbean, preserving a remarkable built landscape ranging from Baroque colonial churches and fortified harbours in Old Havana to mid-century Modernist apartment blocks along the Malecón seafront boulevard. The UNESCO-listed historic core is distinguished by its grand plazas, arcaded streets, and the gilded dome of El Capitolio. Classic American automobiles from the 1940s and 1950s, maintained as working vehicles, constitute one of the city's most visually distinctive elements.
