Housed in the former Presidential Palace, a grand early-twentieth-century building whose interiors were decorated by Tiffany studios, this museum traces Cuba's independence struggles and the 1959 revolution. Galleries display weapons, uniforms, photographs and personal effects of revolutionary leaders. Behind the palace stands the Granma Memorial, a glass pavilion sheltering the yacht that carried rebels from Mexico in 1956. The mirrored hall modelled on Versailles is a highlight of the upper floors.
