This remote protected area occupies the southern third of the Haida Gwaii archipelago and encompasses thousands of islands, inlets, and ancient Haida village sites including the standing totem poles of Sgang Gwaay. The park is jointly managed by Parks Canada and the Haida Nation and requires a permit and reservation to visit. Access is by boat or floatplane only, and the intact temperate rainforest and marine environment remain among the least disturbed in North America.
