Landscape for Breeding and Training of Ceremonial Carriage Horses at Kladruby nad Labem

Horses have been bred on the Elbe flood plain at Kladruby nad Labem since 1579, when the imperial stud was established here, and everything in this flat, composed landscape — avenues of trees, pastures, watercourses, farm buildings — still serves a single purpose: raising and schooling the Kladruber horses that once drew ceremonial carriages at the Habsburg court. Part working stud, part ornamental designed farm, the landscape earned UNESCO World Heritage status in 2019.
