A UNESCO-recognized rice terrace landscape covering over 600 hectares in the highlands of Tabanan Regency, Jatiluwih represents one of Bali's finest surviving examples of the traditional subak irrigation system. Wide, curving tiers of wet rice paddies follow the contours of volcanic slopes at around 700 meters elevation, maintained by farming communities observing centuries-old cooperative water management practices. The landscape receives fewer visitors than Tegallalang and offers a quieter, more expansive agricultural setting.
