A market town and surrounding peninsula forming the gateway to the Sai Kung Country Parks, the largest natural area remaining in Hong Kong. The coastline of the outer peninsula encompasses white coral sand beaches at Ham Tin and Long Ke, sea-stack geology at High Island Reservoir, and hexagonal volcanic column formations at the Sai Kung Geopark. Ferries from the town jetty connect to outlying beaches.
