A landscaped Qing-dynasty-style garden built on the site of the notorious Kowloon Walled City, once the most densely populated place on earth before its clearance in the 1990s. The park preserves a restored yamen office and fragments of the old fort's stone gates and cannon amid pavilions, ponds, and formal courtyards. Exhibits recall the labyrinthine, ungoverned settlement of stacked tenements that once stood here. The tranquil grounds, arranged around eight scenic zones, offer a striking contrast to the anarchic warren they replaced.
