The complex contains significant Mughal buildings including the Sheesh Mahal (Palace of Mirrors) of 1631, decorated with intricate convex glass mosaic work, and the Naulakha pavilion of white marble. Adjacent to the fort is the Hazuri Bagh garden and the entrance to the Badshahi Mosque. The fort and the Shalimar Gardens together form a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
