Kangra Fort is an ancient hill fort considered one of the oldest fortifications in the Himalayas, positioned on a rocky promontory at the confluence of the Banganga and Majhi rivers in Himachal Pradesh. Historical records mention it as a treasury of immense wealth that attracted raids from Muhammad of Ghor and later Timur. The ruined battlements and gateway systems now overlook terraced paddy fields and the broad Kangra Valley, with the Dhauladhar Range forming the northern horizon.
