Triund is a mountain ridge and camping destination at 2,842 metres above Dharamsala, reached via a trail from McLeod Ganj through thick rhododendron and oak forest. The ridge offers a direct and dramatic view of the Dhauladhar Range's sheer south face, which rises more than 2,000 metres above the campsite in a near-vertical wall of rock and ice. Sunrise from Triund, when alpenglow lights the cliff face orange and pink before the plains below emerge from darkness, is the principal photographic draw.
