Located in the historic port district of Mutrah, this covered bazaar is one of the oldest and most atmospheric markets in Arabia, its arched lanes packed with shops selling frankincense resin, Omani silver jewellery, hand-woven textiles, and antiques. The souk occupies a centuries-old trading site at the base of fortified hills overlooking the harbour and remains primarily oriented toward local trade rather than tourism. The smell of burning oud wood permeates the interior passages throughout the day.
