Staubbach Falls descends 297 metres in a single free-falling drop from the clifftop directly above Lauterbrunnen village, making it one of the tallest free-fall waterfalls in Europe. The water disperses into spray in the lower section, creating a fine mist that drifts across the village in crosswinds. A short trail behind the fall passes through a rock alcove where visitors can stand within the spray curtain.
