This large modern performing-arts complex in the Chamberí district of Madrid opened in 2009 with several auditoriums for theatre, dance and music. Built by the regional government, it became a leading platform for contemporary dance and physical theatre in the city. The sleek glass-and-steel building contrasts with the older theatres of the centre and includes a dedicated dance school. Its spacious main and second halls host international companies and festivals, ranking it among the principal venues for adventurous programming in the capital.
