Jeevanjee Gardens is a small historic park in central Nairobi, donated to the public in the early twentieth century by a prominent local businessman. One of the city's oldest green spaces, it offers shaded benches, lawns and old trees amid the surrounding office blocks. A statue and memorials mark its founding, and it has periodically been a focus of campaigns to protect inner-city greenery. Office workers use it for breaks and open-air preachers draw small crowds, lending it a lively civic character.
