Huis ten Bosch is a seventeenth-century royal palace set within a wood on the edge of The Hague, serving as a residence of the Dutch royal family. Built for a princess of Orange, its central Oranjezaal is famous for a cycle of Baroque paintings celebrating the House of Orange that covers the walls and dome. The palace has hosted historic peace conferences and remains a private royal home. Closed to the public, it is glimpsed only through the surrounding parkland, yet it stands among the most significant palaces in the country's history.
