Palacio de Cibeles

The Palacio de Cibeles is a monumental early-twentieth-century building on Madrid's Plaza de Cibeles, originally the central post and telegraph office and now the city hall. Its exuberant white facade, bristling with pinnacles and towers, blends historicist and Art Nouveau elements into a fairy-tale silhouette. The building houses municipal offices and a cultural centre with exhibition spaces. A viewpoint in its tallest tower offers panoramic views, while the surrounding square, with its famous fountain, is a grand civic stage.
