The Bundesrat convenes in the former Prussian House of Lords on Leipziger Straße, a stately neo-Baroque building completed in 1904. As the constitutional body representing Germany's sixteen federal states, it participates in national lawmaking alongside the Bundestag. The chamber's restored plenary hall retains its early-twentieth-century dignity, updated with modern voting technology. Free guided tours and open days let visitors learn about German federalism and view the assembly room, near Potsdamer Platz.
