Standing near the National Stadium in Kingston, this bronze statue honors Bob Marley, the reggae musician who became a global ambassador for Jamaican culture and Rastafarian ideals. The sculpture shows Marley with a guitar and dreadlocks, one foot forward as if mid-performance, and is often adorned with flowers and offerings by admirers. Unveiled in 1985, a few years after his death, it stands close to the stadium where major national events are held. As a tribute to a figure who carried the island's music worldwide, it draws fans from abroad.
