Sir Hubert Murray Stadium

This multi-purpose stadium in Konedobu is one of Port Moresby's historic sporting venues, named after the long-serving colonial administrator Sir Hubert Murray. For decades it hosted rugby league, the national obsession, along with athletics and major national events. Terraced stands overlook the pitch, and the ground has staged internationals and community fixtures that draw passionate crowds. Though newer Pacific Games venues have taken on flagship duties, the stadium remains woven into the capital's sporting memory.
