This Anglican cathedral rises just north of the city centre across the River Torrens in North Adelaide, its twin spires a defining feature of the skyline seen from the parklands and cricket ground. Built in a French Gothic Revival style from the 1860s, it was completed in stages, with the spires added in the early twentieth century. The interior holds fine stained glass, a carved reredos and a notable set of change-ringing bells. As the seat of the Anglican archbishop of Adelaide, it remains an active place of worship and one of the finest.
