This forested hill rises directly behind the Australian War Memorial and offers the classic view down Anzac Parade toward the lake and Parliament House, the axis on which Canberra was planned. A winding road and several walking trails climb through dry eucalypt bushland alive with kangaroos and birds to a lookout at the summit. The vantage point is especially popular at sunrise and sunset, when the low light picks out the geometry of the planned city below.

Where next?

The world is wide open.
