This arboretum on the western edge of Canberra was established after bushfires cleared the site, replanted with dozens of forests of rare and significant trees from around the world. Each block gathers a single species, creating a patchwork of distinct woodlands across the hillside above Lake Burley Griffin. A sweeping visitor centre, a hilltop lookout and a celebrated collection of bonsai draw families and walkers. The site also hosts a playground shaped like giant acorns.
